mend program
“We know it takes courage to seek help. We treat all people with dignity and respect.”
Problematic sexual behaviors can range from compulsive sexual behaviors to sexual addiction. Sex addiction can be loosely defined as engaging in a sexually compulsive behavior which causes stress on relationships, work, finances, faith, and other significant aspects of life. And, the behaviors continue despite repeated efforts to stop. When left unaddressed, sex addiction behaviors like other addictions, can become more frequent and more extreme – and potentially more dangerous to the addict, to their loved-ones, and to society.
The mend program at Crossroads Counseling Group is a Christ-centered treatment program designed to help people mend from the pain, shame, and deception of sexual addictions, sexual compulsions, or other problematic sexual behaviors. Yet, we welcome people of all faiths and world views with respect and acceptance.
Treatment
The mend program assists clients who are new to the recovery process and those who have already begun recovery. Our goal is to help clients improve life stability and develop positive change. We use task-centered psychotherapy, giving clients recognizable milestones to measure their progress. The structure of consistent programming helps develop a commitment to recovery.
Our evidence-based approach encourages healing on multiple dimensions: neurobiological, spiritual, emotional, mental and physical. We integrate these elements into our therapeutic model in contrast to programs who may focus mainly on behavioral modification or negative motivation.
At the mend program, we start with a comprehensive assessment to identify the unique situation of each individual. Our well-trained and experienced professionals walk the client through clinical interviews and objective assessment instruments. The assessment process may include a spouse when appropriate.
FEES Healthcare insurance most often does not cover services for the addicted person. However, spouses are often able to access healthcare insurance. Please contact us regarding specific fees and costs.
Spouses Matter!
Like other addictions, sex addiction doesn’t affect just one person. It impacts the whole family. That’s why we have developed individual and group services for the partner as well. Our team utilizes crisis intervention strategies to help spouses and partners come to terms with the discovery that their loved one has been living in a hidden world. In situations where the addicted spouse is not ready or willing to receive help, we help the addict’s spouse begin their own healing journey.
